Tour 1

Berlin and its birds of prey

searching for tracks on a bike tour through urban nature

Alexanderplatz/Neptunbrunnen – Volkspark Friedrichshain – Zionskirchplatz – Humboldthain – Englischer Garten/Tiergarten – Großer Tiergarten

Get on your bike. Join the bird nerd on a very special guided bike tour in the center of Berlin.

During the five-hour tour through the Berlin districts of Mitte, Prenzlauer Berg and Tiergarten, you will get to know the city quarters of the buzzard, kestrel, peregrine falcon, sparrowhawk and goshawk.

Berlin is not just hip for young people: the urban space offers wildlife a variety of habitats – especially for birds of prey.

On this individual nature tour in Berlin, we want to find answers to questions such as: Why is the city so attractive to birds of prey? How do the animals live in their urban habitats? Why do we see them so rarely? How do we know they are there?

In addition to the ornithological questions, I will give you a lot of information about the neighborhoods we visit.
