Private tours by bike, walking or by public transport in Berlin and the surrounding area

Finally you made it to Berlin. Now all you need is someone to show you around the city. You have already found him:

BuenaVista Guide Berlin - your expert for individual tours in Berlin.
Sustainable, individual, spontaneous, completely different.
Nature - City - Tours

I am an early riser. Early in the morning, I take care of the organic vegetables in my urban garden project. After that I go for a quick walk in the open fields. Let’s check the birds! A glance through the binoculars proves it: stonechat, whitethroat and wryneck are there,  blackbirds, thrushes, finches and starlings anyhow.
Once you've finished breakfast, we can start – as far as I am concerned.

What about a guided bike tour along the remnants of the Berlin Wall?
I experienced it’s deterrent effect still live in the days of the Cold War. I have been raised in the far west of former West-Germany. As a teenager in the 1980s me an my family we often visited the divided city. We were allowed to cross the border to the East. A day visit to see the part of the family from the East of Germany.

You do have enough of all the Berlin Wall stories after an hour? No problem! You decide:
Shopping on Kudamm, city park in Tiergarten, street art in Friedrichshain, beer garden in Kreuzberg or currywurst in Prenzlauer Berg? We can swiftly change the subject during your Berlin tour. Because I know my way around. I know where to go. I do live in Berlin for more than thirty years..

And if you want something completely different?
A coach for the choir outing, an expert in modern art, a shuttle service for your event? I've been in the business for over twenty years. It's called "networking" these days. I know someone who knows someone who knows someone ....
Here we go

Possible tours

Now there are a few suggestions for possible tours. Some are only suitable for cycling, some can be done either by bike or on foot. Most can be done all year round, some are better suited to spring and summer. You should plan at least 3 hours for your tour. The costs are currently from 85 euros per hour. I look forward to your inquiry.

Info

I have been a Berliner for over 30 years – being raised at the Lower Rhine in West Germany . I have been showing international guests the city of Berlin and its surroundings for over 25 years. For more than 10 years I have been involved in an urban garden project.

In addition to German, I speak English, Spanish and Dutch. I love cycling through the city. I always have binoculars and a bird identification app with me.

I can as well pose myself with the fact that I achieved the following relevant certificates:

Jochen is a tour guide who does his job really well - not just provides jokes and trivia-showmanship that I've seen too many times before. We had a wonderful bird-watching trip and got some tips on what to do afterward as well :) All of us immediately started thinking about other trips we could have with Jochen and we will definitely book tours with him again!

We had a wonderful full day tour! Jochen had a complete understanding of the history of Berlin and could provide context for the sequence of events. Not only did we see all the sights, but we have a better understanding of the city and its people over the past 100 years.

I enjoyed my 3 hour tour of Berlin with Jochen. He was open to revising the tour stops if his suggestions didn't include what I was hoping to see. He had a very efficient system to allow easy drop offs and pick ups at various places, allowing us the full 3 hours to actually see the sights. He was quite informative and thoughtful and I would definitely recommend booking a tour with him.

Jochen was fantastic, very knowledgeable, with a wealth of information. He obviously loves his city but sees it for its true history as well. Very energetic, and would recommend him to everyone.
